Calliope Stage Company is expanding our education programming and inviting artists, creators, and teaching artists to join us in building a vibrant, community-centered arts hub in downtown Sylva. Rooted in accessibility, collaboration, and artist support, our programming is designed to create meaningful opportunities for people of all ages and experience levels to engage with the arts.

We are seeking artists and educators interested in developing and leading classes, workshops, pop-ups, and creative experiences across a wide range of disciplines. Whether you’re an experienced teaching artist or someone with a unique skill to share, we invite you to submit an idea and join us in shaping a dynamic, accessible arts ecosystem in our community.

Be a part of calliope…

  • as an artist.

We welcome submissions from artists who believe their work aligns with our mission and values. Due to the number of submissions we may recieve, we regret we may not always be able to respond indiviudally. However, we are eager to meet new artists and welcome your follow-ups. Click below to email us your materials and let us know a little about yourself.

  • as a supporter.

As a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization, we are humbled by the financial support we receive from our community and beyond. We have grand visions for our future as we continue to grow our platform in rural North Carolina and the region for professional storytelling and theatre-making. Help us “build our bridge” to the wider theatrical world by supporting our artists and community arts programming with your shared treasure. We’d love to talk more, so please consider reaching out to our Board of Directors Fundraising Committee Chair, Kara Addy, by clicking the button below.

  • as a volunteer.

Consider joining us as a community volunteer. We would love to expand our network of arts-engaged community members of all ages and have a variety of volunteer opportunities that can be catered to your skills, experiences, and interests.
